News :tmnt1:

Can't say why, just am.

Mmm....maybe it is that I have been given a dslr to play with. :excited: That could be it. It's certainly not the weather, how dreadful! It was 50 and raining last night and now it is 12 degrees and so windy. Our house was moving overnight, reminiscent of the home in 'the Shipping News' that blew away from its Newfoundland foundation. It was much like that.

And tomorrow is the day I get to toy with said camera in the theater! Should be fun. Jekyll and Hyde this year as I'm sure I've already mentioned.

HAH! And I know I am getting stalked to do TMNT art but I must apologize...I have been staying away from much of the fandom as of late. It is much like when I was back in college, where I would delight in the night classes because I could sit and communicate with adult peers rather than peer peers...if you get my meaning. Kids can be so cruel (and I speak not of young children mind, but kids who are titled such because of their behavior rather than their age). I find it much easier to associate with those a tad more mature at any rate and I am keeping to that corner for the time being, fans more my age, and letting the kiddies run their sordid show. It is really quite scary that they waste such time and energy on these matters, giving the entire fandom a bad image, and for what I ask? I'm afraid I simply no longer have the stomach for it. Besides, us TMNT moms gotta stick together ;) I swear though, at some point, I am going to write a biography for Oroku Saki, and if that is not a waste of energy, I do not know what is. =p

New cameras to play with are always awesome! =D And though I understand what you mean about wanting to do more than just fanart, I've always loved the realism you put into the characters, as opposed to all the cutesy cartoon TMNT art that seems to be floating about everywhere. I'll be a little sad to see your stuff go by the wayside. =/

However, I also enjoy your photo art, so I hope you'll take lots of awesome pics from the play and post them! =D

Oh don't worry, I haven't lost my love of the TMNT, just revolted by a smattering of "fans" who have taken to bullying. I am not associated with this type but seeing the things they do is enough to keep me from interacting on most forums and generally being part of the active fandom as it were. It is hard to ignore. They are so prominent that they can change their names, register on any forum under any identity and they are still as obvious as if they wore neon signs on their foreheads. It's rather sickening.

Oh, you mean like, the kiddies who don't like your version because it clashes with what they know of the fandom? Or perhaps the people who obnoxiously beg you for more art? =/

I'm sort of an awkward fence-sitter on this whole thing, because I'm not a fan whose been with the series since it's heydays in the late 80's-early 90's, (like most of my age group) but at the same time I'm not one of the new generation who got introduced to the series via TMNT 2K3 or Flash Forward.

I blame my mom. =p She thought the show was violent and stupid when I was a kid, and so I ignored the series until a year or two ago, when I stumbled on some old VHS tapes of the first two movies. =)
I'm now a bit dismayed that I missed out on the golden age, but at the same time I don't have the panicky "You're ruining my childhood!" problem. XD

LOL! No not that type. Those guys I can handle. They're harmless, annoying perhaps but harmless. I mean, it is hard being an "older" fan with all the newbies running around all excited about the reinvention of the TMNT, in their youth, the younguns. But I don't mind, really. Those are the REAL kids. It's almost charming in a way and definately good for the franchise so I can't complain. But I'm talking about the ones old enough to know better, who think they know everything and own everything and can get whatever they want...erm...brats, for lack of a better term. The fact I am avoiding them has nothing to do with the TMNT per se, but their abhorent behavior is somewhat of a deterent, I must admit. It's kind of hard to enjoy something when all you think about is the nasty people who spoil the fun. It is supposed to be fun...right? :slow:
I don't blame you about steering from the TMNT fandom. I think every fandom has a bunch of looney tunes/know it alls that pretty much ruin it for everyone else.

I'm still going to stick around and view all of your wonderful photos!

Between the loony fans and the corporate buttholes, I've just about had it. About the only thing I'm interested in is the IDEA of the TMNT anymore. That's it.
